Hi all I'm an aussie lesbian who is considering moving to your end of the world for work - but I must admit I'm kinda concerned about how I'd be received there. Has much changed in the last couple of years? Is it really that bad - i.e. just how far under the social radar do you have to be? Can anyone shed any light of the regional areas near Invercargill? Are they very different? I have a feeling I've been a bit spoilt over here in oz Thanks!

Its not that bad, really. Its just that theres no gay venues, and people are really reluctant to come out of the woodwork. And it does pay not to be 'in your face', but thats more for men than women. People are more accepting of lesbians ..... courtesy of certain celebrities and songs.....
